In
term two Nuwarra P. S. had a special day exclusively for hands-on Maths
activities that were educational and fun for both, students and teachers.
Students were divided into five stage groups and these groups rotated after 45 minutes to different teachers. Activities included barrier and symmetry games, making and calculating bridges, estimating and measuring distances outside and games about money and shapes.
Stage 3 students were fortunate to have Mr. Cook, Head teacher of Maths at Moorebank High who enjoyed working with and getting to know our senior students.
At recess students bought choc-topped ice-creams for $1-00 which raised money for new Maths equipment for our school.
