Nuwarra PS opened in 1974 and built the reputation of being one of the leading schools in our community.
In 2005, although a much smaller school, the community still holds it in high esteem.
Nuwarra PS is proud to be public and proud to be quite unique in character. We deliver learning programs that cater for all student needs from those with learning disabilities to students who are gifted and talented. We have a Special Education Unit which caters for the learning and social needs of hearing impaired students. We have a special language class into which students from all over our area can apply for admission. We truly are a strong learning community.
Academics are a strong focus and yet we promote the whole development of students in the school and place emphasis on sporting and cultural programs. Physical fitness is a priority with many opportunities for students to develop in this area.
We are committed as a staff to provide the best education that we can for all students.
We care about children and we want them to succeed.
Education is important and we only get one chance to provide those
strong foundations. When they start their early education at Nuwarra
PS, they have a great chance for future success!
*Our Principal, Mrs. Kerryanne Knox, has accepted a higher position
with the DET as Principal Liaison Officer for N.S.W. We look forward to
welcoming her successor in 2005/6.
